My stay at the Pavillon Monceau was generally positive. I was in town with 7 colleagues. We had 5 rooms in the hotel (2 singles and 3 doubles) on 4 different floors. The double rooms are small but adequate, as is typical in most mid-market Parisian hotels. The single rooms were tiny, but still adequate for 1 person. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All of us, including the 2 somewhat picky children of one colleague, liked the buffet breakfast. The parts I didn't like as well about the hotel were service related. We were coming in on the 9:30 am Eurostar from London so I had asked a week in advance for early check in so we could freshen up and get on our way. I had also left very clear instructions about what types of beds we needed in rooms. I was told by the desk staff I spoke to that this was no problem. I speak French, mind you, so there was no miscommunication. When we arrived that morning at 10:30am, none of our rooms were available. They had switched room instructions so we had too many single rooms and not enough double rooms. Once this situation was on its way to getting resolved the desk person proceeded a hard sell of events around Paris, despite me repeatedly telling her it was of no use as I knew the city well and would be showing them around myself and had already procured the tickets. Other than the mixup at the beginning and the sales pitches, it was a good stay. The night staff was friendly and accomodating for late night drinks. The hotel is in a fairly quiet more residential area but the metro is close by and a bus stops almost right in front of the hotel that takes you directly to CDG Etoile / Arc de Triomphe. I would stay in this hotel again.
